Brian Morton
Brian Morton, MBA, is a Region Executive for Halley Consulting Group. He is a seasoned healthcare manager with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in primary care, specialty practices and behavioral health, with particular expertise in billing, receivables management and compliance. Brian’s prior experience includes the direction of operations and fiscal management for home health, durable medical equipment and behavioral health departments of Fairfield Medical Center. Brian developed the audit and revenue analysis tools for National Century Financial Enterprises, and subsequently was instrumental in the receivables funding processes for several healthcare facilities located in California, Georgia, South Carolina and Arizona. He successfully implemented an EMR for a home care organization and has also implemented several home care, DME, and practice management systems.
During Brian’s most recent Halley client engagement he served as Vice President of Physician Operations for a 60-provider multi-specialty network. Some of his accomplishments there included; streamlining billing operations and improving cash flow by reducing A/R from 88 to 30 days, while improving net collections per visit by 14 percent; consolidating 26 different active physician compensation plans into the Halley Consulting model; driving eight of 17 clinics to a breakeven run rate; leading JCAHO preparedness and successfully completing JCAHO surveys; and opening and overseeing the operations of a family practice residency site.
Brian has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University. He contributed to a three-volume set titled The Business of Healthcare, published in December, 2007 (Cohn/Hough, editors, Praeger Perspectives, Greenwood Publishing Group). Brian was also a contributing author of The Medical Practice Start-Up Guide, released by Greenbranch Publishing in August, 2008.
